  • Kentucky Horsewear FAQs

    Who makes Kentucky Horsewear?

Kentucky Horsewear is a premium equestrian brand founded in 2011 and headquartered in Ronse, Belgium. It began with protective leg wear and has grown into a full range of rugs, saddle pads, girths, headcollars, grooming products and matching dogwear.

Is Kentucky Horsewear made from real leather or sheepskin?

No. Kentucky uses high-quality faux leather and artificial sheepskin and rabbit fur, so the range is animal-friendly. Faux leather does not absorb water or dirt, which makes most items easy to wipe clean or machine wash.

How do I wash Kentucky saddle pads and rugs?

Most Kentucky textiles can be machine washed at 30°C. Kentucky recommends using a wash bag for extra protection, washing as infrequently as possible and using a large-drum machine where you can. Do not tumble dry; leave to air dry instead. Always check the care label on your item.

What size Kentucky rug does my horse need?

Kentucky rugs are sized in feet and centimetres (for example, the Show Rug runs from 5'9" / 125cm to 7' / 160cm). Measure from the centre of your horse's chest, along the side, to the point of the buttock, then choose the matching size shown on each product.

Which girth length should I choose?

Kentucky anatomic girths come in sizes from 115cm (46") to 145cm (58"). If you are unsure, measure your current girth from end to end of the leather, excluding buckles, and choose the closest size. Our team is happy to help you check before you order.

What is the difference between Kentucky jump and dressage saddle pads?

Jump pads are cut shorter and straighter to suit a forward-cut jumping saddle, while dressage pads are longer with a straighter flap shape to suit a dressage saddle. Many Kentucky pads, such as the Glitter Stone range, come in both styles and in Pony and Full sizes.

Are Kentucky products suitable for horses with sensitive skin?

Yes. Many Kentucky products use soft, skin-friendly faux sheepskin linings, anatomic shaping and elastic inserts to reduce rubbing and pressure, including the Sheepskin Anatomic Girth and the Skin Friendly Under Rug.

Do you stock Kentucky Dogwear and Grooming Deluxe?

Yes. We stock Kentucky Dogwear, including coats and collars that match the horse range, plus Grooming Deluxe, Kentucky's own brand of premium brushes and stable accessories. We also stock Dy'on leather bridles, another brand from the Kentucky family.

Do you offer free delivery on Kentucky Horsewear?

Yes. Delivery is free on all UK mainland orders over £75. For smaller orders, or deliveries outside the UK mainland, the delivery cost is shown at checkout before you pay.

Can I return Kentucky items if they don't fit?

Yes. You can return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a refund (original delivery costs are not refunded unless the item is faulty). Please contact us at info@nagsessentials.co.uk before sending anything back. See our returns page for full details.
